for intentional living

what our community is saying…

In a post-COVID world, we’re no longer living for the future.

We want flexibility, we want joy, we want purpose; and we need help getting there. Hustle & Play is how we find our way.

With some playful experimenting and a lot of trust, we are going to unlearn how we got here in the first place.

Hustle & Play is a guidebook that teaches us how.

It takes us through cycles of reflection, visualization & practice that coincide with our calendar. It gently asks how our choices make us feel, teaching us to use our physical & emotional responses.

This is a wildly new way of living for most of us; and our workshops, retreats and groups are a wonderful way to see how it shows up beautifully & uniquely for each of us.

This is the difference between what H&P offers and what the others don’t: it teaches us how to look in a mirror we’ve never seen before.

A mirror that reflects our strengths, shows us where our core values meet our goals, and how our tasks make us feel. It completely rewires our brains, and eventually we are able to prioritize the things that give us flexibility, joy, and purpose without sacrificing achievement.

The best part? The longer we do it; the better it gets.

We are building a foundation, not a cliff. Even if we don't use our books for weeks or months at a time, Hustle & Play is an ongoing invitation to be playful and imperfect at the same time.

How it works

Our guidebook follows a continuous cycle of improvement through weekly, monthly & seasonal cycles:

The repetition of this cycle shows us how we spend our time and if it aligns with the core values.

It looks like this:

As years pass, we create so much evidence of who we are. Each year we understand more about how we show up in each season, how we set and achieve goals, what our values are… and our past books become more & more valuable as reference guides. This data collection creates gentle accountability within ourselves, leading to lasting impact in how we prioritize, achieve goals, build community, believe in ourselves and more.

What’s the catch?

H&P can be difficult in the first year. The learning phase is no joke - between understanding what the terms mean and building the practice of sitting with your book on a regular basis - we’ve seen over the years that many folks struggle to get through their book on their own.

From this learning has emerged our offerings of workshops, coaching, retreats, and our robust community garden. We’ve seen the infinite ways folks make H&P their own, and we all stand to gain from it. Every edition of H&P evolves from the insight of the folks in the garden.

Beginning with the 2024 edition, all H&P guidebooks come with a FREE membership to our community garden. With a vast resource library and a virtual space to work on books together, folks can connect to others who are in the process of living healthier, happier lives too.

Inside the garden there are ways to deepen the experience with immersive workshops & monthly calls, which have become pillars of lasting connection for many of our members.

We’ve learned that using H&P to build our lives is deeply healing work.

We are in touch with our inner child who wants to play, our current reality which may need some shifting, the fear of facing ourselves to reflect at all, and so many other combinations of “big” insights. Being connected to others who are courageously exploring this too can make this whole process enormously joyful.

Doing this in community is not mandatory, we’re just committed to making it as easy as possible.

Universally, folks report that the 2nd year of using H&P is easier. Going through all four seasons and understanding where it’s going and how it looks in practice simply just takes a full year for most folks. In the scheme of things this isn’t long at all, but at the time it doesn’t feel that way.

The GREAT news is that the impact lasts forever. We never build our schedules again without considering where the play, the push, the move is. And for this, we are healthier, happier & more playful in our journey.

We’ll take a year of challenge & learning for that, will you?
